A colorimetric quantitative immunoassay from Assay Genie is configured for the in vitro detection of Calicin (CCIN), a cytoskeletal protein first characterized in the calyx of mammalian spermatids where it supports sperm head shaping during spermiogenesis. This Human CCIN ELISA kit serves reproductive biology and andrology research projects that investigate germ cell maturation, spermiogenesis defects, and male fertility-related protein expression.

CCIN contributes to the structural integrity of the acrosomal region and the perinuclear theca, and altered Calicin levels have been associated with abnormal sperm head morphology and impaired fertilization competence in published reproductive studies. The 96 Assays format accommodates medium-throughput screening across patient cohorts, donor sample comparisons, or staged germ cell preparations, with sufficient reagents to generate full standard curves and run multiple plate replicates. Researchers working on cytoskeletal remodeling, knockout or knockdown validation studies, or translational andrology can apply this assay to characterize Calicin abundance in human-derived specimens.

Supplied reagents include pre-coated microplate strips, assay-specific standards, detection antibody, substrate solution, and protocol-grade buffers. For storage and handling, refrigerate unopened components at 4°C, protect from light, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles of reconstituted working solutions. Each lot is quality-controlled, and the Assay Genie ELISA platform is widely adopted in academic and clinical research laboratories focused on reproductive protein biomarkers. The kit is intended for research use only.
