Cathepsin L1 is a lysosomal cysteine proteinase that plays a major role in intracellular protein catabolism and remodelling of the extracellular matrix. It contributes to tissue remodelling, cell migration, and immune response regulation, and its dysregulation has been associated with pathological conditions including cancer, inflammation, and cardiovascular diseases. The protein is encoded by the CTSL gene (NCBI Gene ID: 1514) and is a dimer of disulfide-linked heavy and light chains with a reported molecular weight of 38kDa (UniProt: P07711).

Detection is by ELISA, with a detection range of 0.312–20nmol/L and a sensitivity of 0.1nmol/L. Intra-assay CV, inter-assay CV, linearity and recovery data are provided with the kit. For research use only.
