Human Cathepsin K (CTSK) ELISA Kit

A sandwich-format immunoassay from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative detection of human Cathepsin K (CTSK). The kit is reported for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids, and uses a colorimetric read-out. Specificity is stated for natural and recombinant human Cathepsin K.

Cathepsin K is a lysosomal cysteine protease that is closely involved in osteoclastic bone resorption and remodelling and has been linked to conditions such as osteoporosis and rheumatoid arthritis. The kit is positioned for signal transduction research and for studies exploring potential therapeutic targets in bone-related disorders. The product is supplied for research use only.

Quoted performance characteristics include a detection range of 4.69–300 pmol/L and a sensitivity of 2.1 pmol/L. Reported precision values are an Intra CV of 6.8% and an Inter CV of 7.2%. Linearity has been evaluated across serial dilutions of serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. Recovery is stated as 96–108% for serum and 98–110% for plasma.
