Human Cathepsin D (CTSD) ELISA Kit

A sandwich-format immunoassay from Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of Cathepsin D (CTSD) in human samples, validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants, and other biological fluids. Cathepsin D is a lysosomal aspartyl protease involved in intracellular protein breakdown and has been implicated in the pathogenesis of breast cancer and possibly Alzheimer disease. Detection is colorimetric, with absorbance read at 450 nm.

Manufacturer specifications report a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.078 ng/mL, with intra-assay CV of 4.9% and inter-assay CV of 8.5%. Linearity testing across serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma samples showed dilution parallelism with recoveries ranging between 80% and 120%; average recovery was 100% in serum and 102% in plasma. The kit is specific for natural and recombinant human Cathepsin D and is labelled for research use only, with research applications in neurosciences.
