Cathepsin C, also known as dipeptidyl peptidase I (DPPI), is a lysosomal cysteine protease that activates granule-associated serine proteases in neutrophils, cytotoxic T lymphocytes, NK cells, and mast cells, making it a key target in studies of inflammatory and immune cell function. Loss-of-function mutations in CTSC cause Papillon-Lefèvre syndrome, characterized by aggressive periodontitis and palmoplantar hyperkeratosis, while altered expression has been reported in chronic inflammatory and bone-resorptive conditions. The microplate-based workflow uses prepared standards and samples to generate a standard curve for interpolating unknown concentrations, with all reagents supplied in the kit for direct use after equilibration to refrigerated conditions.
