Human Cathepsin B ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of Cathepsin B in human samples. Cathepsin B is a key lysosomal cysteine protease involved in protein degradation, apoptosis, and tumor progression, making this assay relevant to research in cell biology, including investigations into cancer, cardiovascular disorders, and neurodegenerative conditions.

The kit uses a colorimetric, double-antibody sandwich detection format with a sensitivity of 23.438 pg/mL and a measurable range of 39.063–2500 pg/mL. It is validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples, and is intended for storage at 2–8°C, where the components remain stable for up to 12 months.

The workflow involves equilibrating reagents and loading standards, samples, and controls; primary incubation at 37°C; binding of the biotin-labeled detection antibody; binding of HRP-streptavidin; colour development with TMB in the dark; and absorbance reading at 450 nm after stop solution addition.
