Human Cathepsin B (CTSB) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative detection of human Cathepsin B (CTSB). It uses a colorimetric detection method, is reactive with human samples, and is intended for the measurement of Cathepsin B in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit recognises both natural and recombinant human Cathepsin B.

Reported performance specifications include a detection range of 0.312–20 ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.1 ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 5.2% and an inter-assay CV of 8.3%. Linearity in serum at a 1:2 dilution (N=5) is 108–117%, in EDTA plasma (N=5) 107–119%, and in heparin plasma (N=5) 106–116%, with corresponding values at further dilutions down to 1:16. Recovery averages 95% in serum (range 89–101%) and 97% in plasma (range 91–103%).

Cathepsin B is a lysosomal thiol protease, also referred to as APP secretase, Cathepsin B1, APPS or CPSB, which has been implicated in intracellular protein degradation, tissue remodelling, tumour invasion and metastasis. The kit is supplied for research use only.
