Human Caspase-8 (CASP8) ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative detection of human Caspase-8 (CASP8) in human serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The colorimetric assay is intended for research use only and is applicable to neurosciences research.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.156-10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.06 ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 5.5% and inter-assay CV is 7.1%. The kit demonstrates linearity in serum (96-107% at 1:2, 104-114% at 1:4, 104-116% at 1:8, 109-119% at 1:16), EDTA plasma (96-105%, 106-116%, 110-119%, 115-115%) and heparin plasma (97-109%, 99-108%, 82-93%, 100-112%). Recovery is 80-88% in serum (average 82%) and 80-90% in plasma (average 84%). Specificity is established for natural and recombinant human Caspase-8 (UniProt Q14790).

Caspase 8 is the most upstream protease of the activation cascade of caspases responsible for the TNFRSF6/FAS-mediated and TNFRSF1A-induced cell death. The protein localises to the cytoplasm, and its dysregulation has been associated with cancer, autoimmune disorders and neurodegenerative conditions, making it a relevant biomarker for apoptosis research and therapeutic development.
