Human Caspase-1 (CASP1) ELISA Kit

Designed for the quantitative detection of human Caspase-1 (CASP1) levels, this Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is intended for research use only. The kit can be applied to serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids, and shows specificity for natural and recombinant human Caspase-1. Caspase-1 is a thiol protease involved in inflammatory processes, apoptosis, and defense against pathogens, making it a valuable biomarker in studies of inflammatory conditions, autoimmune disorders, and neurodegenerative diseases.

The assay delivers a detection range of 15.6-1000pg/mL with a sensitivity of 10pg/mL. Precision data report an Intra CV of 6.1% and an Inter CV of 8.3%. Linearity has been evaluated in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16, with serum ranging 93-114%, EDTA plasma 87-120%, and heparin plasma 82-118%. Recovery averages 88% (range 82-94%) for serum and 90% (range 84-96%) for plasma.

Caspase-1 is a heterotetramer composed of two anti-parallel heterodimers, each formed by a 20 kDa (p20) and a 10 kDa (p10) subunit, and is localised in the cytoplasm. The protein is classified under the peptidase C14A family (EC 3.4.22.36) and is associated with Neurosciences research.
