The reported detection range is 0.156-10ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.059ng/mL. Precision is stated as an intra-assay CV of 4.1% and an inter-assay CV of 6.7%. Spike-and-recovery averages 80% in serum (range 80-85%) and 81% in plasma (range 80-87%).

CILP is a secreted cartilage-matrix protein thought to play a role in cartilage scaffolding, antagonising TGF-beta1 and IGF1 signalling, and interacting with TGFB1 as a monomer.
