The Assay Genie kit quantifies cytoplasmic cysteinyl-tRNA synthetase (CARS), a class I aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase that catalyzes the ATP-dependent attachment of L-cysteine to its cognate tRNACys during cytosolic translation. The enzyme is encoded by the CARS gene on chromosome 11p15.5 and supports canonical translation fidelity in human cells.

Beyond its housekeeping role in protein biosynthesis, CARS has attracted interest in oncology and inflammation research. Elevated cysteinyl-tRNA synthetase activity has been reported in certain solid tumor lines, and secreted or circulating forms of the enzyme are under investigation as candidate biomarkers, making quantitative measurement useful for translational studies on aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase biology.

Each kit ships in a 96 Assays format with the microplate strip wells, detection antibody vial, standard diluent, and wash concentrate needed to run the colorimetric assay. Reconstituted components should be refrigerated between uses and protected from light to preserve activity through the stated shelf life. Researchers load diluted specimens onto the plate, perform the binding and wash steps, and read absorbance on a standard microplate reader to interpolate CARS concentrations from the standard curve.

For research use only. Not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
