Human Carnitine O-palmitoyltransferase 1, liver isoform (CPT1A) ELISA Kit

A Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative detection of human Carnitine O-palmitoyltransferase 1, liver isoform (CPT1A) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit is intended for research use only and is relevant to studies in the cardiovascular research area, where CPT1A — an enzyme located on the mitochondrial outer membrane that catalyses the transfer of the acyl group of long-chain fatty acid-CoA conjugates onto carnitine, an essential step for the mitochondrial uptake of long-chain fatty acids and their subsequent beta-oxidation in the mitochondrion, and which plays an important role in triglyceride metabolism — is a target of interest.

The assay has a reported detection range of 15.6-1000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 10pg/mL. Precision is reported as intra-assay CV of 5.2% and inter-assay CV of 8.1%. Spike-and-recovery averaged 89% (range 83-95%) in serum and 91% (range 85-97%) in plasma. Dilution linearity in serum (N=5) ranged from 111-120% at 1:2 to 89-99% at 1:16; in EDTA plasma (N=5) from 100-110% at 1:2 to 88-98% at 1:16; and in heparin plasma (N=5) from 99-109% at 1:2 to 106-117% at 1:16. The kit shows specificity for natural and recombinant human Carnitine O-palmitoyltransferase 1, liver isoform.
