Human Cardiotrophin-1 ELISA Kit

A colourimetric sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of human cardiotrophin-1 (CT-1, CTF1) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate and other liquid samples. The double-antibody format uses a biotin-labelled detection antibody, an HRP-streptavidin conjugate and TMB substrate, with absorbance read at 450 nm.

Reported sensitivity is 9.375 pg/mL with a working range of 15.625–1000 pg/mL. The kit is for use with human samples and is stored at 2–8°C for 12 months.

Linearity across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma (n = 5) spanned 84–105% at 1:2 to 1:8 dilutions. Average recovery was 96% for serum (range 87–103), 95% for EDTA plasma (range 85–104) and 92% for heparin plasma (range 85–104). According to the manufacturer, cardiotrophin-1 plays a key role in cardiac development and function, is reported to have protective effects on the heart, and is implicated in various cardiovascular diseases.
