Description

A colorimetric Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of CAML1/CD171 (L1CAM) in human samples. The double-antibody assay is intended for research use in cell biology and is validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, and cell or tissue lysate, as well as other liquid sample types [S1][S2][C0].

Reported performance characteristics include a sensitivity of 56.25 pg/mL and a measurable range of 93.75–6000 pg/mL [S1][S2]. Linearity has been assessed across 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions, with serum recovery ranging from 86–104% (average 97%), EDTA plasma 90–96% (average 94%), and heparin plasma 93–105% (average 98%) [S1][S2]. The procedure uses a 96-well dismountable microplate, biotin-labelled detection antibody, HRP-streptavidin (SABC), and TMB substrate, with absorbance read at 450 nm after stop solution is added [S1][S2]. Components should be stored at 2–8°C (protected from direct light where indicated), with the lyophilised standard and coated strips suitable for longer-term storage at -20°C [S1][S2].

CAML1, also known as CD171 or L1CAM, is a cell adhesion molecule involved in cell–cell interactions and has been implicated in cancer metastasis, immune response modulation, and neurodevelopment, making its measurement relevant to a range of biomedical research areas [S1][S2].
