Human Calponin-2/CNN2 ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative detection of human Calponin-2 (CNN2). It uses a double-antibody, colorimetric detection method and is validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The assay has a sensitivity of 0.469 ng/mL and a working range of 0.781–50 ng/mL, with reagents intended to be stored at 2–8°C for up to 12 months.

The procedure involves equilibrating reagents and TMB substrate to room temperature, loading standards and samples onto the pre-coated plate, and incubating at 37°C to allow antigen binding. After sequential incubations with a biotin-labelled detection antibody and HRP-streptavidin conjugate, TMB substrate is added and developed in the dark; the reaction is then stopped and absorbance is read at 450 nm. Linearity has been assessed for serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma at 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions, and recovery ranges are reported for the same matrices.

Calponin-2 is described as a protein involved in smooth muscle contraction and cytoskeletal organisation, with expression linked to vascular diseases, smooth muscle-related disorders, and cancer progression. The kit targets the CNN2 gene product (UniProt Q99439), also referred to as Calponin H2, smooth muscle, and Neutral calponin, and is intended for cell biology research.
