Human Calpain-6 (CAPN6) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie intended for the quantitative measurement of human Calpain-6 (CAPN6). The kit is reactive with human samples and validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Specificity is reported for natural and recombinant human Calpain-6, and the product is labelled for research use only.

Quoted performance characteristics include a detection range of 1.56-100 ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.39 ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 5.0% and an inter-assay CV of 8.8%. Linearity was assessed in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16. Recovery averaged 86% in serum (range 80-92%) and 88% in plasma (range 82-94%).

The target (UniProt Q9Y6Q1) is described as a microtubule-stabilizing protein potentially involved in microtubule dynamics and cytoskeletal organization, and as a possible regulator of RAC1 activity via interaction with ARHGEF2; it does not appear to have protease activity as it has lost the active site residues. The kit is associated with cardiovascular research applications.
