Human Calpain 2, Large Subunit (CAPN2) ELISA Kit

Calpain 2, also known as m-calpain, is a calcium-activated, neutral cysteine protease whose 80 kDa catalytic subunit contains the active-site Cys-His-Asn triad that cleaves diverse substrates involved in cytoskeletal remodeling, cell cycle progression, and apoptotic signaling. The Assay Genie Human Calpain 2 (CAPN2) ELISA Kit enables quantitative measurement of this large subunit in human research samples, supporting investigations of neurodegeneration, ischemia-reperfusion injury, and tumor cell biology. The assay is validated specifically for human CAPN2 detection and is intended for research use only.

Provided as a microplate format delivering 96 assays per kit, the assay runs on standard plate readers and is compatible with tissue homogenates. Pre-coated wells, detection reagents, calibrator standards, and assay buffers are supplied. Refrigerated storage between uses preserves reagent activity; equilibrate components to room temperature before each run. Absorbance readings are interpolated against the standard curve to determine sample concentrations of the CAPN2 large subunit, allowing researchers to compare calpain 2 activity across disease models, tissue types, and treatment conditions.
