Human Calmodulin (CALM1) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie's sandwich ELISA kit is intended for the quantitative measurement of human calmodulin (CALM1; synonyms CALM, CAM, CAM1) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit is reactive for human calmodulin-1 and recognises both natural and recombinant forms of the protein. Calmodulin mediates the control of a large number of enzymes, ion channels, aquaporins and other proteins through calcium-binding.

Reported performance characteristics include a sensitivity of 0.99ng/mL and a detection range of 1.56-100ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 5.1% and inter-assay CV is 7.9%. Linearity has been evaluated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16. Recovery in serum averages 88% (range 82-94%) and in plasma averages 90% (range 84-96%).

Calmodulin acts as a key regulator of calcium signaling and participates in processes such as muscle contraction, cell division and neurotransmitter release, with dysregulation linked to cardiovascular disorders, neurodegenerative conditions and cancer.
