Human Cadherin, Epithelial (CDHE) ELISA Kit

The Assay Genie CDHE ELISA Kit enables quantitative measurement of human E-cadherin (CDH1, also referred to as uvomorulin), a calcium-dependent transmembrane glycoprotein of approximately 120 kDa that mediates homophilic adhesion between epithelial cells. The kit supports research into epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), a process in which E-cadherin downregulation is associated with tumour invasion and metastatic dissemination in carcinomas of the breast, stomach, colon, prostate, and other epithelial tissues.

E-cadherin is encoded by the CDH1 gene on chromosome 16q22.1, where germline mutations underlie hereditary diffuse gastric cancer. It is also widely used as an epithelial integrity marker in developmental biology, tissue morphogenesis, and regenerative medicine studies. The kit is supplied in a microplate format with all reagents required for the procedure and is intended for research use only.
