CA9 (Carbonic Anhydrase IX) is a transmembrane zinc metalloenzyme whose transcription is driven by hypoxia-inducible factor 1α (HIF-1α). It is frequently overexpressed in solid tumours, where it catalyses extracellular acidification and supports tumour survival under low-oxygen conditions. This chemiluminescence-based immunoassay from Assay Genie is configured as a 96-well microplate, allowing sensitive quantification of CA9 in serum, plasma and other biological fluids. Common applications include oncology biomarker discovery, clear cell renal cell carcinoma research, and studies of hypoxia-driven tumour metabolism. Reconstituted components should be stored refrigerated at 2-8°C, while unused strips remain sealed in their foil pouch with desiccant to protect from light. Standards are prepared fresh per run, and the kit is supplied as a complete set of pre-validated reagents, calibrated for research use only in vitro, with no significant cross-reactivity observed against related carbonic anhydrase isoforms at the recommended working concentrations.
