Human C4BPa/C4 Binding Protein Alpha ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA kit employs a double-antibody format with colorimetric detection to quantify human C4 Binding Protein Alpha (C4BPA), also referred to as C4BPalpha. The assay has a sensitivity of 0.938 ng/mL and a working range of 1.563–100 ng/mL, and is intended for the measurement of C4BPA in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Components should be stored at 2–8°C, where they remain stable for 12 months.

Spike-and-recovery testing in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma returned average recoveries of 95%, 98% and 99% respectively, with serial-dilution linearity across the same matrices generally falling between 80% and 105%. The protocol uses a pre-coated plate with standards and samples incubated for 90 minutes at 37°C, followed by a biotin-labelled detection antibody (60 minutes at 37°C), HRP-streptavidin binding (30 minutes at 37°C), TMB development in the dark for 10–20 minutes, and absorbance reading at 450 nm after addition of stop solution. C4BPA is a regulator of the complement system, and its dysregulation has been associated with inflammatory and autoimmune disease, making the kit relevant to immunology research.
