Human C4b-binding protein beta chain (C4BPB) ELISA Kit

The assay is validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, uses a colorimetric detection method, and is supplied for research use only within the immunology field.

C4BPB is a regulator of the classical pathway of complement activation, acting as a cofactor to C3b/C4b inactivator and accelerating degradation of the C3 convertase. The beta chain additionally binds protein S, connecting complement regulation to coagulation. Dysregulation of C4BPB has been implicated in autoimmune disorders, inflammatory conditions and infectious disease, supporting its use as a biomarker in those research areas.

Manufacturer-reported performance includes a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.15ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 5.1% and an inter-assay CV of 10.2%. Linearity across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions is reported for serum (84-107%), EDTA plasma (85-120%) and heparin plasma (97-120%). Recovery averages 94% for serum (range 88-100%) and 96% for plasma (range 90-102%). Specificity covers natural and recombinant human C4BPB (UniProt P20851).
