Human C-terminal telopeptide of Collagen alpha-1 (III)chain (CTXIII) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative detection of human C-terminal telopeptide of Collagen alpha-1(III) chain (CTXIII) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. CTXIII is a marker of collagen degradation that reflects the turnover of type III collagen fibres in connective tissues, with elevated levels associated with conditions such as osteoporosis, arthritis and other bone-related disorders.

The assay uses a colorimetric detection method with a reported detection range of 0.156-10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.076 ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is given as 8.1% and inter-assay CV as 10.2%. Specificity is stated for natural and recombinant human C-terminal telopeptide of Collagen alpha-1(III) chain. Linearity has been characterised for serum (99-110% to 102-114% across dilutions 1:2 to 1:16), EDTA plasma (ranges 92-113%) and heparin plasma (ranges 109-120%), and recovery in serum averages 106% (range 100-112%) while plasma averages 108% (range 102-114%).

The kit is intended for research use only and provides reagents for the workflow, including a dismountable ELISA microplate, lyophilised standard, sample and assay diluents, detection reagents A and B, wash buffer, substrate, stop solution and plate sealer. Final absorbance is read at 450 nm using a microplate reader.
