Human C-terminal propeptide of Collagen alpha-1 (II)chain/PIICP ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of human C-terminal propeptide of Collagen alpha-1(II) chain (PIICP), also referred to as Chondrocalcin. The assay uses a double-antibody sandwich format with colorimetric detection and is reactive for human samples, including serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples.

The kit achieves a sensitivity of 18.75 pg/mL across a working range of 31.25-2000 pg/mL. Reported recovery averages 91% in serum, 93% in EDTA plasma, and 95% in heparin plasma, with linearity demonstrated between 86-105% in serum, 90-101% in EDTA plasma, and 88-100% in heparin plasma at a 1:2 dilution. All components are stored at 2-8°C for up to 12 months.

PIICP is an important marker of collagen biosynthesis, providing insight into bone and cartilage metabolism. Abnormal levels have been associated with musculoskeletal conditions such as osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis, supporting research into collagen turnover and disease pathology.
