Human C-reactive protein (CRP) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA kit is intended for the precise quantification of human C-reactive protein (CRP) levels in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Designed for human reactivity, the assay recognises both natural and recombinant CRP (synonym PTX1), a homopentameric pentraxin implicated in host defense through agglutination, phagocytosis and complement fixation.

Reported performance includes a sensitivity of 0.067ng/mL and a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL, with intra-assay precision of 5.3% CV and inter-assay precision of 7.8% CV. Recovery in serum is 81% (range 80-87%) and in plasma 83% (range 80-89%), while linearity has been assessed across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma samples at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16. The kit is for research use only and is suited to immunology research, where CRP serves as a biomarker of inflammation relevant to cardiovascular disorders, infections and autoimmune conditions.
