Human C-Mer Proto Oncogene Tyrosine Kinase (MERTK) ELISA Kit

MERTK (also known as c-Mer) is a single-pass transmembrane receptor tyrosine kinase belonging to the TAM receptor family alongside TYRO3 and AXL. It mediates phagocytic clearance of apoptotic cells, a process termed efferocytosis, and modulates innate immune signalling through ligands such as Gas6 and Protein S.

Aberrant MERTK expression has been documented in acute myeloid leukaemia, melanoma, glioblastoma, and non-small cell lung carcinoma, while inherited MERTK mutations cause autosomal recessive retinitis pigmentosa. Researchers commonly quantify MERTK levels in cell lysates and tissue homogenates from patient-derived specimens and relevant animal disease models.

The antibody pair is raised against the human MERTK extracellular domain, calibrated for human samples, and shows no significant cross-reactivity with the paralogous TAM receptors TYRO3 and AXL under standard conditions. Reconstitute the lyophilised standard with the supplied diluent, load samples and standards in duplicate, and read the microplate after stopping the chromogenic reaction.
