Human C-C motif chemokine 5 (CCL5) ELISA Kit

The assay uses a colorimetric ELISA detection method and is reactive with human specimens including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 15.6-1000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 7.8 pg/mL. Intra-assay CV is 4.7% and inter-assay CV is 8.1%. Linearity has been validated across serial dilutions (1:2, 1:4, 1:8, 1:16) for serum (87-95% to 85-95% across dilutions), EDTA plasma (103-113% to 107-115%) and heparin plasma (103-113% to 102-115%). Recovery averages 97% for serum (range 91-103%) and 99% for plasma (range 93-105%).

The kit specifically detects natural and recombinant human CCL5 and is intended for research use only, with applications in neurosciences. CCL5 is a secreted chemokine that functions as a chemoattractant for blood monocytes, memory T-helper cells and eosinophils, causes the release of histamine from basophils, and may activate chemokine receptors including CCR1, CCR3, CCR4 and CCR5. It is also one of the major HIV-suppressive factors produced by CD8+ T-cells.
