Human C-C motif chemokine 13 (CCL13) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of human C-C motif chemokine 13 (CCL13) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit shows specificity for natural and recombinant human CCL13, with a detection range of 15.6-1000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 7.81pg/mL, using a colorimetric detection method.

Reported performance characteristics include an intra-assay CV of 6.1% and an inter-assay CV of 8.9%. Linearity in serum ranges from 87-95% at a 1:2 dilution to 88-98% at 1:16, while EDTA plasma ranges from 103-113% to 107-117% and heparin plasma from 83-93% to 88-97% across the same dilutions. Recovery averages 102% (range 96-108%) in serum and 104% (range 98-110%) in plasma.

CCL13 is described as a chemotactic factor that attracts monocytes, lymphocytes, basophils and eosinophils but not neutrophils, signalling through CCR2B and CCR3 receptors. It is implicated in leukocyte accumulation during allergic and non-allergic inflammation, monocyte recruitment into the arterial wall during atherosclerosis, and monocyte attraction in tissues chronically exposed to exogenous pathogens.
