The target protein is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin superfamily, expressed most prominently in mammary epithelium and at lower levels in other secretory and immune tissues, where it participates in milk fat globule secretion and in the modulation of T cell responses.

The kit is intended for research use only and includes a pre-coated microplate, standards, detection antibody, and the buffers needed to complete the workflow on a standard absorbance plate reader.
