The capture reagent is anchored to UniProt entry P35070 (Gene ID 685), and Assay Genie reports no significant cross-reactivity with a broad panel of human cytokines that includes Angiogenin, BDNF, BLC, IL-1 alpha, IL-1 beta, IL-2 through IL-15, IFN-gamma, TNF-alpha, TNF-beta, VEGF, MCP-1, RANTES, SCF, TGF-beta, TIMP-1, and TIMP-2. Spike-and-recovery performance averages 74% in cell culture supernatants (range 65-85%), 79% in plasma (range 67-88%), and 96% in serum (range 87-105%); intra-assay CV is below 10% and inter-assay CV below 12%. The lyophilized recombinant standard is reconstituted in 1X Assay Diluent D to a 50 ng/mL stock, and a 2-fold dilution is suggested for the sample matrices tested. Unopened kits may be kept at -20 degrees C for up to 6 months from the date of shipment or at -80 degrees C for extended archiving, while reconstituted standards and the biotinylated detection antibody should be aliquoted to limit freeze-thaw cycles.
