Human bTC (Betacellulin) CLIA Kit (HUES00386)

An immunoassay kit from Assay Genie is available for the quantitative detection of human betacellulin (probetacellulin, BTC). The supporting data describe both a chemiluminescence immunoassay (CLIA) format and a sandwich ELISA configuration, with the ELISA format providing a detection range of 78-5000 pg/mL and a sensitivity of 21 pg/mL. Reported precision values include an intra-assay coefficient of variation of 6.9% and an inter-assay CV of 10.2%. Recovery in serum is reported as an average of 114% (range 108-120%) and in plasma as an average of 116% (range 110-120%).

Both formats are reactive with human samples and are validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay detects natural and recombinant human probetacellulin (UniProt P35070), a monomeric growth factor that binds EGFR, ERBB4 and other EGF receptor family members, and is described as a potent mitogen for retinal pigment epithelial cells and vascular smooth muscle cells.
