The Assay Genie ELISA kit for human Breast Cancer Susceptibility Protein 1 (BRCA1) provides a colorimetric immunoassay workflow for quantifying BRCA1 levels in tissue homogenates and cell lysates prepared from human samples. BRCA1 encodes a tumor suppressor protein whose abundance is widely studied in breast and ovarian cancer research, including investigations of DNA damage repair, therapeutic response, and hereditary risk models. Each package contains a pre-coated microplate, biotinylated detection antibody, recombinant protein standards, assay buffers, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, substrate solution, and wash buffer configured to perform 96 assays per kit.

Applied in research laboratories working on oncology, molecular biology, and biomarker discovery, this assay enables correlation of BRCA1 protein concentration across treated versus control specimens, between genetic backgrounds, and within disease progression models. The procedure involves pipetting standards and samples onto the plate, binding the target during incubation, adding the detection reagent, developing color proportional to antigen concentration through enzymatic reaction, and measuring absorbance on a standard microplate reader at the wavelength indicated in the protocol.

Reagents are supplied refrigerated to preserve enzymatic and antibody activity, and the kit insert specifies storage temperature, handling steps, and shelf life so that components remain within validated performance specifications across the stated period of use.
