Human Brain-specific serine protease 4 (PRSS22) ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the precise measurement of human brain-specific serine protease 4 (PRSS22) levels in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method, offers a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.082ng/mL, and is specific for natural and recombinant human PRSS22.

Performance characteristics include an intra-assay CV of 6.7% and an inter-assay CV of 11.2%. Linearity across dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16 showed recovery ranges of 97-107%, 102-112%, 81-90% and 93-103% for serum (N=5); 105-116%, 81-92%, 103-111% and 101-111% for EDTA plasma (N=5); and 89-98%, 101-111%, 87-99% and 100-110% for heparin plasma (N=5). Average recovery was 109% (range 103-115%) for serum and 111% (range 105-117%) for plasma.

PRSS22 is a secreted serine protease implicated in synaptic plasticity and neuronal development, with dysregulation associated with neurological disorders such as Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease. The enzyme preferentially cleaves the synthetic substrate H-D-Leu-Thr-Arg-pNA compared to tosyl-Gly-Pro-Arg-pNA. For research use only.
