Human BPI (Bactericidal/Permeability Increasing Protein) ELISA Kit (HUES01737)

Bactericidal/Permeability Increasing Protein (BPI) is a ~55 kDa cationic antimicrobial protein expressed in neutrophil azurophilic granules, where it binds the lipid A moiety of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and neutralizes gram-negative endotoxin. This sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie enables quantitative measurement of BPI in human serum, plasma, and other biological fluids using a colorimetric detection method on a 96-well microplate.

The kit provides a pre-coated plate, lyophilized recombinant standards, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, wash buffer, substrate solution, and stop reagent. Standard curves are generated from serial dilutions, with roughly 100 µL of sample or reagent added per well. Reagents are stored refrigerated at 2-8 °C; frozen aliquots of standards and conjugate at -20 °C extend shelf life, and the HRP conjugate should be protected from light.

BPI quantification is commonly applied in studies of sepsis, systemic inflammation, acute lung injury, cystic fibrosis, periodontal disease, and innate immunity, supporting biomarker research on neutrophil activation and endotoxin exposure.
