Human Bone morphogenetic protein 6 (BMP6) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of human Bone morphogenetic protein 6 (BMP6) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The colorimetric assay has a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.078 ng/mL, with an intra-assay CV of 4.1% and an inter-assay CV of 8.7%.

Linearity has been validated in serum (81–93% to 101–111% across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions), EDTA plasma (105–115% to 88–98%) and heparin plasma (110–120% to 82–92%). Recovery is 90–102% in serum and 92–104% in plasma. The kit specifically detects natural and recombinant human BMP6. BMP6 is a secreted TGF-beta superfamily ligand that induces cartilage and bone formation and has been linked to skeletal disorders such as osteoporosis and bone fractures, as well as to iron homeostasis and certain cancers; it interacts with SOSTDC1 and is catalogued under UniProt P22004 (molecular weight 57,226 Da).
