Human BMP2 ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Assay Genie, this Human BMP2 ELISA Kit is a sandwich ELISA (double antibody) designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of Human BMP-2 (Bone Morphogenetic Protein 2) in serum, plasma, and other biological fluids. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is reactive with human samples. BMP-2 is also known by the aliases BMP-2, BMP2A, and BMP-2A, and is catalogued under UniProt entry P12643.

The kit provides a standard detection range of 62.5–4000 pg/ml with a sensitivity below 37.5 pg/ml. In spiked-sample testing, recovery rates ranged from 85–105% across serum, EDTA plasma, and UFH plasma matrices, with reported averages of 98%, 97%, and 94% respectively. Intra-assay CV is below 8% and inter-assay CV below 10%. Linearity was demonstrated in serum, EDTA plasma, and UFH plasma samples tested at serial dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8, with results falling between 80% and 105% of expected concentrations.

Stored at 2–8°C for up to 6 months, the assay is intended for Research Use Only. It employs a biotin-conjugated detection antibody together with Avidin-conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP); TMB substrate produces a colour change that is read at 450 nm. According to UniProt, BMP-2 induces cartilage and bone formation and belongs to the transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) superfamily, where it acts as a disulfide-linked homodimer.
