Human BLVRB/Biliverdin Reductase B ELISA Kit

A sandwich, double-antibody ELISA designed by Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of BLVRB (Biliverdin Reductase B) in human samples, including serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysates, and other liquid samples. Detection is colorimetric, with absorbance read at 450 nm following TMB substrate development.

BLVRB catalyses the conversion of biliverdin to bilirubin, a step in heme metabolism, and its dysregulation has been associated with liver disorders, anemia, and oxidative stress-related conditions. The assay has a sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL and a standard range of 0.313–20 ng/mL. Reported recovery averages are 96% in serum (n=5, range 86–105%), 95% in EDTA plasma (n=5, range 89–102%), and 100% in heparin plasma (n=5, range 87–105%). The kit is stored at 2–8°C for 12 months.

The assay procedure involves equilibrating reagents and loading standards, samples and blanks onto the pre-coated plate, incubating at 37°C for 90 minutes, binding with a biotin-labelled detection antibody at 37°C for 60 minutes, adding HRP-Streptavidin for 30 minutes, developing with TMB substrate in the dark for 10–20 minutes, and reading absorbance at 450 nm after adding stop solution.
