Description

Designed for the quantitative measurement of human Bile acid receptor (NR1H4), this Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie provides a high-quality tool for research into bile acid biology and metabolic disorders. NR1H4, also known as the Farnesoid X Receptor (FXR), is a ligand-activated transcription factor that regulates bile acid metabolism and homeostasis in the liver and intestine. Dysregulation of NR1H4 has been linked to metabolic disorders including liver diseases, obesity, and diabetes, and accurate quantification of NR1H4 levels offers insights into the underlying mechanisms and potential therapeutic targets.

The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is suitable for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants, and other biological fluids, with reactivity for human samples. It offers a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.078 ng/mL, with an intra-assay CV of 6.1% and an inter-assay CV of 8.9%. Specificity is for natural and recombinant human Bile acid receptor.

Linearity has been validated at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions in serum (95–105%, 104–116%, 87–99%, 113–123%), EDTA plasma (88–98%, 102–112%, 111–121%, 93–105%) and heparin plasma (86–98%, 107–120%, 94–94%, 89–101%). Recovery in serum averages 109% (range 103–115%) and in plasma averages 111% (range 105–117%). The kit is for research use only and is relevant to cardiovascular research.
