Description

Designed by Assay Genie for quantitative detection of biglycan in human samples, this Sandwich ELISA Kit uses a colorimetric double-antibody method. It is validated for use with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples, and is stored at 2–8°C for 12 months.

The kit has a stated sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL and a working range of 0.313–20 ng/mL. Reported linearity (n = 5) spans 86–101% for serum, 89–100% for EDTA plasma, and 86–102% for heparin plasma across dilution ratios from 1:2 to 1:8. Recovery averages 99% for serum (range 93–102%), 95% for EDTA plasma (range 85–105%), and 99% for heparin plasma (range 93–105%). The procedure involves reagent and TMB equilibration to room temperature, a 90-minute primary incubation at 37°C, biotin-labeled detection antibody binding for 60 minutes, HRP-streptavidin incubation for 30 minutes, TMB substrate development in the dark for 10–20 minutes, and absorbance reading at 450 nm.

Biglycan is described as a key protein involved in matrix organization, cell adhesion, and inflammation regulation, with dysregulation implicated in arthritis, cardiovascular disorders, and cancer. The product falls within the Cell Biology research area and targets the human biglycan protein (UniProt P21810).
