Human BH3-interacting domain death agonist (BID) ELISA Kit

A Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of human BH3-interacting domain death agonist (BID). The assay is intended for research use only and supports studies of apoptosis and programmed cell death, where BID acts as a key regulatory protein.

Validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids, the kit detects natural and recombinant human BID with a detection range of 1.25-80ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.88ng/mL. Reported precision values are an intra-assay CV of 4.9% and an inter-assay CV of 7.2%. Recovery in serum is 88% (82-94%) and in plasma is 90% (84-96%). Linearity has been demonstrated across serial dilutions of serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma samples.

The targeted protein (UniProt P55957) is a pro-apoptotic member of the Bcl-2 superfamily involved in mitochondrial regulation of apoptosis. Dysregulation of BID has been associated with cancer, neurodegenerative diseases and autoimmune conditions, supporting its relevance as a biomarker within the Neurosciences research area and in broader investigations of cell death and survival mechanisms.
