Human beta MSH/beta-Melanocyte Stimulating Hormone ELISA Kit

A colorimetric Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie enables quantitative measurement of beta-MSH (Beta-Melanocyte Stimulating Hormone) in human samples, including plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The double antibody sandwich format offers a sensitivity of 46.875 pg/mL with a measuring range of 78.125-5000 pg/mL.

Beta-MSH is a hormone involved in regulating pigmentation, energy metabolism, and immune response, and its dysregulation has been linked to obesity, autoimmune disorders, and skin diseases. In validation studies, EDTA Plasma (n=5) showed linearity of 86-100% at 1:2, 88-99% at 1:4, and 82-95% at 1:8, while Heparin Plasma (n=5) showed 86-102%, 83-88%, and 84-92% at the same dilutions. Recovery ranged from 86-105% (average 96%) for EDTA Plasma and 89-96% (average 93%) for Heparin Plasma. Kits should be stored at 2-8°C for 12 months.
