Description

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of human Beta-hexosaminidase subunit beta (HEXB). The kit is reactive with human samples and validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, using colorimetric detection.

Reported performance includes a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.055ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 6.2% and inter-assay CV is 11.5%. Specificity covers natural and recombinant human HEXB. By UniProt (P07686), HEXB is a lysosomal enzyme responsible for the degradation of GM2 gangliosides and other molecules containing terminal N-acetyl hexosamines in the brain and other tissues, with defects in the gene linked to Sandhoff disease (GM2-gangliosidosis type 2).

Linearity was demonstrated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 (N=5). Average recovery is 107% (range 101-113%) for serum and 109% (range 103-115%) for plasma. Synonyms for the target include Beta-N-acetylhexosaminidase subunit beta, Hexosaminidase subunit B, N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase subunit beta, Cervical cancer proto-oncogene 7 protein, HCC-7 and HCC7.
