Human Beta-galactoside alpha-2,6-sialyltransferase 1 (ST6GAL1) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative detection of human Beta-galactoside alpha-2,6-sialyltransferase 1 (ST6GAL1) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. ST6GAL1 is a type II membrane glycosyltransferase that catalyses the transfer of sialic acid from CMP-sialic acid to galactose-containing acceptor substrates during protein glycosylation, and its dysregulation has been linked to cancer, autoimmune disorders and inflammatory conditions.

The assay is run as a colourimetric sandwich immunoassay on a microplate and reports a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.057 ng/mL. Reproducibility is given as an intra-assay CV of 6.9% and an inter-assay CV of 11.8%. Dilution linearity in serum is 107–119% at 1:2, 101–114% at 1:4, 84–93% at 1:8 and 101–111% at 1:16; in EDTA plasma 110–119%, 89–98%, 101–110% and 106–115%; and in heparin plasma 116–116%, 100–108%, 109–119% and 99–109%. Spike-and-recovery averages 109% (range 103–115%) in serum and 111% (range 105–117%) in plasma.

Specificity covers natural and recombinant human ST6GAL1 (UniProt P15907), and the kit is intended for research use only.
