Human Beta-defensin 124 (DEFB124) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative detection of human beta-defensin 124 (DEFB124). The assay is reactive with human samples and is validated for serum and plasma, as well as cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, tissue homogenates, and other biological fluids.

Detection is colorimetric, with a detection range of 15.6-1000 pg/mL and a sensitivity of 10 pg/mL. Intra-assay CV is 5.6% and inter-assay CV is 8.1%. Recovery in serum averages 89% (range 83-95%) and in plasma averages 91% (range 85-97%). Unopened kit storage is 2-8°C for 12 months.

Beta-defensin 124 is a secreted antimicrobial peptide of the innate immune system with reported antibacterial activity, mapping to chromosome 20q11.1, and has been studied in the context of inflammatory and infectious disease research.
