Quantify endogenous Human Beta-defensin 1 (hBD-1), a 36-residue antimicrobial cationic peptide of approximately 3.9 kDa encoded by the DEFB1 gene, with this human-specific competitive ELISA from Assay Genie. hBD-1 is constitutively expressed in epithelial barriers and contributes to innate mucosal defense, making the kit relevant for studies on respiratory tract infections, oral candidiasis, inflammatory bowel disease, urinary tract inflammation, periodontal disease, and tumor microenvironment research.
