Human Beta-2-microglobulin (B2M) ELISA Kit

A Sandwich ELISA designed for the quantitative detection of human Beta-2-microglobulin (B2M), supplied by Assay Genie. The assay is intended for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, with reactivity confirmed for human samples. Detection is by a colorimetric ELISA method, and the kit recognises both natural and recombinant human Beta-2-microglobulin.

Beta-2-microglobulin is a component of the class I major histocompatibility complex (MHC) and is involved in the presentation of peptide antigens to the immune system. It is widely used as a biomarker for conditions including kidney disease, multiple myeloma and certain autoimmune disorders, and monitoring B2M levels can support research into disease progression and treatment efficacy. Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 3.12–200 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.72 ng/mL, with an intra-assay CV of 3.9% and an inter-assay CV of 7.4%. Linearity has been evaluated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16. Recovery is reported as 94% (range 88–100%) for serum and 96% (range 90–102%) for plasma. The kit is for research use only.
