Human Beta-1,4-galactosyltransferase 1 (B4GALT1) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this sandwich-format ELISA kit enables quantitative measurement of human Beta-1,4-galactosyltransferase 1 (B4GALT1) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. Detection is colorimetric, and the assay is specific for natural and recombinant human B4GALT1. The kit is for research use only.

B4GALT1 is an enzyme that contributes to the biosynthesis of glycoproteins and glycolipids and participates in cellular processes including cell adhesion, migration and signal transduction. Its dysregulation has been associated with cancer, immune disorders and developmental abnormalities, making it a relevant biomarker for studies in these areas. The cell surface form of the protein functions as a recognition molecule that binds specific oligosaccharide ligands during cell-to-cell and cell-to-matrix interactions, such as those occurring in development and egg fertilization.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 78-5000 pg/mL, a sensitivity of 40 pg/mL, an intra-assay CV of 6.7% and an inter-assay CV of 8.0%. Linearity was assessed in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16. Average recovery is 102% in serum (range 96-108%) and 104% in plasma (range 98-110%).
