Human Beclin-1 (BECN1) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the accurate detection of human Beclin-1 (BECN1) levels in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. It recognises natural and recombinant human Beclin-1 and is intended for research use only. Beclin-1 is a key regulator of autophagy, and its dysregulation has been implicated in cancer, neurodegenerative disorders and infectious diseases, making the kit relevant to research in cancer and related areas of cell biology.

According to the manufacturer's datasheet, the assay has a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.1 ng/mL, with an intra-assay CV of 5.2% and an inter-assay CV of 9.1%. Recovery is reported as 100% (94–106%) for serum and 102% (96–108%) for plasma, and linearity is provided for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16. The target corresponds to UniProt Q14457, and a 35 kDa Beclin-1-C form localised to mitochondria has been described as promoting apoptosis.
