Human BDNF ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF) in human serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. It uses a double-antibody sandwich format in which a capture antibody is pre-coated onto the plate, a biotin-conjugated antibody serves as the detection reagent, and HRP-Streptavidin together with a TMB substrate produces a colour change read at 450 nm.

Reported performance characteristics include a sensitivity of 18.75 pg/mL and a working range of 31.25–2000 pg/mL (1 ng = 1300 mIU). BDNF is described as a neurotrophin that supports neuronal survival, growth, and differentiation, with dysregulation having been linked to neurological and psychiatric conditions such as depression, Alzheimer's disease, and schizophrenia. Reagents are stored at 2–8 °C and remain stable for 12 months under those conditions.

The kit is supplied with a microplate, lyophilized standard, biotin-labelled antibody concentrate, HRP-Streptavidin conjugate, TMB substrate, sample and antibody dilution buffers, wash buffer, stop solution, and plate sealer. The assay is run on a standard microplate reader with a 450 nm filter.
