The anti-apoptotic protein Bcl2L2, also known as Bcl-w, is a member of the Bcl-2 family of mitochondrial regulators that govern programmed cell death. Investigators working on apoptosis, mitochondrial membrane integrity, or chemotherapy resistance routinely need to quantify Bcl2L2 abundance in clinical and experimental specimens alongside related family members such as Bcl-2, Bcl-xL, and Mcl-1. The kit supplied by Assay Genie provides 96 Assays per box, giving enough well plate capacity for full standard curves, multiple sample replicates, and background controls within a single plate-based run.

Readout is performed by absorbance on a standard microplate reader, and the kit ships ready for quantitative immunoassay work with coated plate, capture and detection reagents, wash buffer, substrate solution, and recombinant standards all included. The package is intended for research use only and integrates naturally with cell culture preparations, western blot validation, flow cytometry follow-up, and immunohistochemistry on matched tissue sections. Storage at 4 degrees C is recommended for short-term use, while longer term storage at -20 degrees C protects antibody components; aliquoting reagents before first use and limiting freeze-thaw cycles helps preserve inter-assay consistency across longitudinal studies.

Because the assay is specific to human Bcl2L2, it supports translational projects in oncology, neurodegeneration, and reproductive biology where dysregulated apoptosis is a central feature. A typical paired workflow uses PCR to confirm BCL2L2 transcript changes against the ELISA protein readout, anchoring mechanistic hypotheses about cell survival signaling.
